The Rhode Island Swedish Heritage Association (RISHA),
is an educational, non-profit organization, promoting Swedish
culture in Rhode Island and southeastern New England by
sharing our heritage and traditions, and preserving our history for future generations.
We are currently involved in conducting oral history interviews
of Swedish-Americans in Rhode Island, collecting photographs, and
researching the history of Swedish churches, singing societies,
cultural, and fraternal organizations. We are always looking for new
volunteers to assist in our efforts.

The translation and proofreading of Svenskarna i Rhode Island (The Swedes in
Rhode Island), originally published by the Svea Press in 1915, has been
completed! The pictures are being scanned and then the layout of the book can
begin. We expect it to be produced in 2024.
